Three kinds of drawdown
End of day: the max loss follows your highest closing balance. A peak during the session doesn’t move it, so open profit you give back intraday doesn’t cost you room.
Real time (intraday): the max loss follows your highest balance during the day, open profit included. Giving back a winning trade can use up room even if you close the day green.
Static: the max loss is a fixed level that never moves up with your profit.
On funded accounts, many firms stop the trailing once it reaches your starting balance (sometimes plus a small amount): from then on, your max loss is fixed.
